I spoke with Charlotte this morning who is getting ready to head to the hospital. Gary remains on the ventilator, sedated, giving him a chance to rest and recouperate and in the ICU. We assume he'll remain sedated throughout today and maybe tomorrow and stay hospitalized for the foreseable future. Charlotte feels this rest is about first Gary has gotten in the last three weeks and is feeling positive about his current care.
As always, Charlotte and the family are blown away but the love and support everyone has shown. She's overwhelmed each day to come home and find the cards, letters, and comments left on this site, wishing Gary well and sending thoughts and prayers. It is definitely these kinds of things that move the days forward for everyone.

Wishing I were there to hold your hands and wrapping my arms around Gary. I love you all so much. I can't wait until the next time I'm in Harrisburg and I drive up Green Street and Gary is sitting on his chair outside the back door greeting me, shouting "Amy Lou" with a kiss and hug. Everyone I know loves Gary Spitz because he is a straight shooter who will tell you exactly what he thinks and the kind of person who will take the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. Now, it's Gary who needs our prayers and support. All of us who have been touched by Gary through the years will be there for Gary, Charlotte and the whole family -- now and always.

Gary and family, you are in all of our thoughts and prayers. Mark is so right when he said what comes around goes around, Gar you have given so much to us and the entire jewish community that it is now our turn to give to you. You are truly loved.
